Sri Lankan sea turtle

There are many wildlife conservation centres in Sri Lanka, Sea Turtles Conservation in Bentota South is one of them.

                                            Sea turtle’s egg

The white sea turtles are called “Albino Turtles”. Only 1 or 2 of the eggs that are hatched will be Albino turtles. Their shells are much softer than other turtles’ and therefore are kept within the sanctuary until they are around 10 yrs old and then released to the sea. Because of the weaker cartilage that makes their colour they are very vulnerable and can be easily captured by predators.
